Air Conditioning & Heating Installation In Southern California

A new HVAC system is one of the larger investments a homeowner makes — and it should outlive the loan. Most of the installation problems we see in homes across Southern California aren’t equipment failures. They’re installation failures: mismatched systems, undersized returns, leaking ductwork, skipped permits, and shortcut workmanship that nobody catches until the system fails three years in. We’ve been installing HVAC the right way since 2008 — and we don’t collect a dime until you’ve inspected the work and signed off.

Our 6-Step Installation Process

1. Free In-Home Consultation We come to your house, meet you in person, and give you a customized estimate based on your home — not a quote over the phone. Square footage, ceiling height, ductwork condition, electrical service, insulation, sun exposure all factor in. No obligation.

2. Permits and Prep Work Once the contract is signed, we pull all necessary permits, coordinate any abatement or electrical prep work, and stage your equipment for installation day. You don’t make calls to the city — we do.

3. Professional Installation Day Our install team arrives in uniforms, in marked trucks, with floor protection and drop cloths. We remove and dispose of your old equipment, install the new system, and clean up at the end of every day so your home stays livable.

4. Two Inspections After installation we run two inspections: one by an independent third party, one by the city or county building and safety office. This isn’t optional — it’s how we make sure the work is right.

5. You Pay After Approval, Not Before We collect payment only after both inspections pass and you’re 100% satisfied. Until then, you owe nothing.

6. One Year of Free Maintenance Every installation comes with a year of complimentary maintenance built in — same way you’d service a new car. That keeps your warranty intact and your system running at peak efficiency.

What Sets Comfort Time Apart

Trained & Uniformed Technicians Every technician is drug-tested, background-checked, and continuously trained on current code, safety standards, and equipment. They arrive in clean uniforms and marked trucks — every time.

We Answer 24/7 A real person answers the phone day or night — no answering service, no voicemail tree. When you call, you reach Comfort Time.

Factory-Authorized Dealer We’re a factory-authorized installer for Goodman (owned by Daikin) and AC Pro (owned by Lennox), giving you access to better warranties and manufacturer-approved service than non-authorized installers can offer.

Money-Back Guarantee If you’re not satisfied with our work, we’ll do everything to make it right. If you’re still not satisfied after that, we remove the equipment and refund you in full. That’s our guarantee in writing — not a marketing line.

What We Install

Central Air & Furnace Systems The traditional gas/electric setup that handles most Southern California homes up to 2,000 square feet. Natural gas heating for lower power bills, central cooling for the whole home. The most common setup for homes with existing attics or closet space for the furnace.

Heat Pump Systems All-electric heating and cooling from a single unit — the new standard as California moves away from natural gas. Qualifies for rebates and tax credits unavailable on traditional systems. Ideal if you have solar.

Ductless Mini-Splits For homes without attic space, room additions, ADUs, or homeowners who want zone-by-zone temperature control. Higher energy efficiency than central systems for one- and two-zone setups. Quieter outdoor units, individual room control, 15- to 20-year lifespan.

Ductwork Installation & Replacement California requires R-8 insulated ductwork as the current standard. We install new ductwork or replace existing systems with proper R-value, sealed connections, disc dampers for airflow balancing, and supply grilles caulked to prevent attic air leaks.

Whole-Home Attic Fans A properly installed whole-home fan moves cooler outside air through the house in the evening, reducing how much your AC runs and dropping energy costs.

Indoor Air Quality Systems UV coil purifiers, MERV 11 high-efficiency filtration, and Dust Free Active whole-home purifiers that target dust, mold, pollen, bacteria, viruses, cooking odors, and VOCs. Most airborne particles are too small to see — clean air requires the right equipment.

Why Installation Quality Matters More Than Equipment Quality

A premium HVAC system installed incorrectly will underperform a basic system installed properly. Equipment manufacturers like Goodman, Daikin, and Lennox all build reliable products at every tier — what separates a 20-year system from a 7-year failure is the installation itself.

A Matched System Furnace, evaporator coil, and condenser sized correctly for your home and verified through the AHRI database. Mismatched systems kill efficiency, cause performance issues, and shorten lifespan. We install matched systems — every time.

Proper Sizing (Manual J Load Calculation) We don’t size based on the tonnage of your existing equipment. We size based on a real heat load calculation accounting for square footage, ceiling height, window area and exposure, insulation, and sun load. Oversized systems short-cycle. Undersized systems run constantly. The right size runs efficiently for 15+ years.

SEER2 Efficiency Standard California’s current minimum is 14 SEER2 (the U.S. government standard). We set our floor at 16 SEER2 — meaningfully higher energy savings over the equipment’s lifetime. SEER2 is like MPG: the higher the number, the lower the operating cost.

Variable Speed Technology The most efficient design available — automatically adjusts airflow based on demand, maintains even temperatures throughout the home, eliminates dry air in winter, helps control humidity in summer. Available on our premium systems.

Four Guarantees in Writing

No-Surprise Guarantee The price you see is the price you pay. We don’t change pricing or add fees once the agreement is signed.

Money-Back Guarantee If you’re not satisfied with our work, we do everything to make it right. If you’re still not satisfied, we remove the equipment and refund you.

Nothing Down Until You’re Comfortable You pay nothing until the job is done, inspected, and approved by you.

No-Lemon Guarantee If any major components are installed with manufacturer defects, we replace the entire system for free.

10-Year Parts & Labor Warranty

Every installation includes a 10-year parts and labor warranty — best in the industry. The fine print: we cover both the equipment and the labor for a full decade. The only condition is annual maintenance — same way a car warranty requires periodic service. Keep up on yearly maintenance, and your system is covered for 10 years of repairs.

What to Ask Every Contractor Before You Sign

Before you commit to any HVAC contractor, get straight yes/no answers to these:

  • Do they have an up-to-date and valid C-20 California license?
  • Do they have workers’ compensation insurance?
  • Do they have sufficient liability insurance to cover any possibilities?
  • Do they pull permits on every installation?
  • Do they guarantee 100% satisfaction in writing?
  • Do they offer a 10-year parts and labor warranty?
  • Do they care enough to ask about your expectations before installing?

If a contractor can’t say yes to all seven, find another contractor. Comfort Time says yes to all seven — and we have for 18 years.
